Chef German Villatoro

German Mauricio Villatoro is an El Salvadorian award winning chef with over 25 years of experience in fine dining, events and resorts. He is currently the director of culinary at Convene. Convene is the fastest-growing network of full-service meeting, event, and flexible workspaces, where high quality, locally-sourced food and beverage offerings are a signature of the company’s hospitality-infused services. At Convene, German has played a major role in revamping the culinary department, sourcing food for seasonal menus, and hiring and training culinary teams for the openings of 15 new properties in NYC, Philadelphia, D.C. Boston and Los Angeles. He is currently a partner at Don Chingon restaurant in Brooklyn, and has previously worked at the renown La Grenouille Restaurant as well for Conrad Hilton New York and Morgan’s Hotel Group. Chef German’s continued his travels through United States and the Cabbean working for Rosewood Hotels and Resorts.
He began his culinary journey working for Dean Fearing ( pioneer of south western cuisine) at The Mansion on Turtle Creek witch took him to many rosewood Properties like The Carlyle Hotel, The Crescent Court Hotel, Jumby Bay Resort and Little Dix Bay. His time in Caribbean came after his stint in Austin Texas at The Four Seasons Hotel and Resorts. He is a graduate of the L’Academie de Cuisine.
